About Us
Partners Jacob Howard and Elise Olsen have always enjoyed gardening and keeping houseplants. In 2016, they decided to try growing one of their favorite ingredients to cook with: mushrooms. That hobby turned more serious in 2021 when they created The Mushroom Shop.
We offer different varieties of oyster and lion’s mane mushrooms as well as specialty mushrooms such as white beech, enoki, and chestnut. These are unique products that are not available in grocery stores.
At The Mushroom Shop, our mushrooms are naturally and sustainably grown without the use of chemicals in a climate controlled environment. The bags we fruit our fungi from are biodegradable and the spent substrate goes to local farmers to be used as compost.
